FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...

The RPE sounds great, how do I join?

Please click HERE to join.

Is there a membership fee?

The RPE membership fee for the 2024-2025 year is $250 ($225 for renewals and Rowayton residents before Sept 5). Your membership fee supports the activities and events that the RPE carefully plans throughout the year.

How many families are a part of the RPE?

The RPE is comprised of 200+ families in Rowayton, Darien and Norwalk.

What types of events does the RPE organize?

In previous years, the RPE organized several weekly events for kids ranging from beach crafts to music and gym classes and explorations through The Darien Nature Center. We utilized public parks, beaches and community centers, along with many local businesses. For the adults we held monthly moms' and parents' nights that included bar nights, fitness classes, wine & whiskey tastings, shopping events, etc.

What time of day are events scheduled?

The RPE tries to schedule events at various times throughout the week. We have morning events geared towards infants (i.e. stroller walks), and afternoon events for older babies and toddlers (i.e. crafts). We also typically schedule at least one weekend event per-month.

Are the events free or is there a fee associated with them?

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and your membership dues, most of the RPE’s events are free to members. There may be certain, special activities in which a nominal fee is required.

How do I find out about events?

The RPE lists our events in several places - via monthly and weekly e-newsletters to our members, on this website, and on the Wild Apricot app. Events are also promoted on our Instagram, @rowaytonparentsexchange.

Is the RPE only for families new to town?

Not at all.  The RPE is open to all families in Rowayton and the surrounding towns with babies, toddlers, and pre-school age children.  Our members include both newbies and veterans.

I am a working mom, is the RPE really for me?

YES! Our members include families of all shapes and sizes. We welcome nannies, babysitters and other caregivers at our kids' events. We also aim to schedule at least one weekend event per-month to accommodate working parents. We also typically hold our parent-centric events later in the evening to accommodate those who work full-time.

Are there events for dads?

YES!

How can I get more involved?

The RPE is always looking for enthusiastic parents who want to help plan an initiative, organize or volunteer at an event, etc. If you have an idea or a special skill, we'd love to hear about it. Please reach out to us if you want to learn more.
